Prior to re-signing a new deal with Nike last summer, Amar'e Stoudemire made it abundantly clear that he favored the advantages provided to him by the brand's training footwear. After spending '10-'11 somewhat rebelliously wearing the Zoom Huarache Trainer, Nike laced up the six-time All-Star in the Air Max Sweep Thru last season. The model featured a cut and cross-strap construction that likened it to a traditional mid-top Nike cross trainer. While the Sweep Thru wasn't a part of the actual Nike Training range, this sample "STAT" Trainer 1.3 certainly was, though it never made it to the retail phase.
The shoe sports a reflective silver and white synthetic upper, helped by Knicks-inspired royal blue and orange accenting throughout. Personalization comes in the form of Amar'e's logo and "STAT KNOWS" branding on the tongues. You'll also notice a STAT badge on the backside the tongue and custom insoles.
A non-PE version of this colorway actually was released, but if you're in that New York state of mind, you can grab this STAT pair from dballaholic on eBay now.
